What They Fear
The table is filled with those of fear,
Of those of importance and worry,
Not an utterance of a smile or cheer,
Simply the question of ‘How to make more money?’
Away from the table, is where we all are,
What they fear is not the same as you or I,
As we think our thoughts, sat at the bar
Simply waiting, for the day that we die,
Though one sends a smile, with a chorus of joy,
Knowing surviving can be hard,
Yet fun still in our employ,
The brightest grin, comes from the most scarred,
With a laugh and a joke,
Waiting now turns to living,
A cursed spell broke,
As we deserve more than surviving,
Now at the bar, a light shines through,
From twinkling eyes and lifted spirits,
Where laughter now flew,
A chorus of drums, now we all hear it,
You see the table from before,
There’s some words and all must heed them,
As while they ask for more,
In a whisper, ‘Beware the demon of freedom’
