Ode Tae Burns
From wance afar and wance before
Kindred gaether'd roon the fire
To speak of fun, or to speak of sore
But nane, would speak a liar
Ancient tales in songs, they'd sing
Boastin' about here and there
One so braw, their glasses aye did ring
And shouted all at wance for mair
His face so youthful under candle'd light
His stories kept in memories forever
And kinsmen retold with all their might
For he had writin' and rhyme so clever
And to this day we never forget
All dyin' to go up, each in turns
To retell each song and poem set
And celebrate the life of Rabbie Burns
